agreed that's a really tough one (especially suede)... the only advice here is to ask the seller and hope they don't lie. vinted needs to add odor samples 😂
Thank you for this - I just started wearing secondhand leather after eight years of being leather-free for ethical reasons and really love you spreading the word about how easy it is to find preloved.
tried it, found it, love it - so lucky to have a thirft queen (amongst other things) best friend 🫶🏼 thanks trouvé !
can't wait to see you in it!! 😍
the perfect statement piece!!
truly completes any outfit!!! 😘
These are all so cool 🤩
My main problem with shopping vintage leather/suede online is : will it smell ? I’ve had negative experiences with bags :(

my favorite thing to thrift! thanks for the nice article about it. i struggle the most with a good trench coat though.
ah yeah trench coats can be tough to find good quality secondhand. might be worth trying vintage banana republic/benetton/nafnaf for some good deals?
nina ricci vintage is also a good one to check!
You are a national treasure! Thank you for the sifting and sniffing out of these fabulous vintage frocks.
so sweet Zeva! love to do it 🥰

💯 really no reason to buy it new! thanks Tina :)
I have been a fan of leather and suede since it boomed in the 80s.
A couple of recs from me:
- Danier or Danier Leather (Canada), had stores from the 80s to the early 2020s.
- watch out for thin suede, as it can tear. It’s recognizable in pics if you zoom in and look for little dots on the suede surface.
-beware of poor quality of anything made in the 90s. There was a lot of mass produced stuff then and it was cheap, poor quality.
oh these are great tips and recommendations, thanks so much Sheila :)
