Designers André Courrèges, Paco Rabanne and Pierre Cardin lead the way, collaborating with muses Catherine Deneuve and Françoise Hardy. New brands like Rodier and Carven make fashion accessible for the first time.
Fashion in the 1960s was the perfect mix of modern, daring and elegant.
It’s so distinct, that imitating it can feel like playing dress up. So instead, here are 3 ways to sprinkle and own the spirit of the 1960s in our 2025 outfits.

1. Dare to go bright
Color was everywhere: in people’s homes, televisions, clothes. It mirrored the time’s optimism and sense of possibility. But it was also because of new dyeing techniques: vivid colors were now accessible for mass production.
The 1960s remind us that bright clothing is never a bad idea, and always joyful.

2. Dress in sets
It was all about coordinated outfits: from the Courrèges two-piece vinyl set to the Rodier knit twin set.
It’s chic: you immediately look put together. It’s convenient: it’s two articles of clothing in one.

Françoise Hardy was, well, Françoise Hardy.
She pulled off a mini metal dress in ways I, simply, humbly, cannot. But what a good nudge to add some glam to our outfits.
